Somewhat new here...

Hey, I'm somewhat new here and was wondering if there were any other ladies out there who have been talking to their husbands about "When we have kids..." but haven't quite been able to discuss when the when will really happen. I have friends with kids and friends without kids but I don't have anyone to really discuss the in between phase. I don't want to talk to family because I don't want to get anyone's hopes up either. We haven't been married for a year yet so that's one reason I haven't really discussed it in detail with him either.

My hubby and I were in that place about a yr ago. We had been married about 8 mths and had agreed to wait at least a yr but I was ready to try sooner. However, DH wasn't. We just kept talking about when we have kids and eventually my husband was comfortable enough with the topic to actually discuss it seriously. I just had to wait for him to get used to the idea that he could potentially be a father soon.

 

My advice would be to keep talking about it but don't push the issue. He needs to be just as ready as you are to take that big step. Believe me, if you're talking about it, it's probably on his mind more than you think! Hope this helps! GL!

Welcome! I am also new around here as well. DH and I have been TTC for 2 months now. However we are also newlyweds! We actually talked in detail about starting our family, before the wedding even happend. We have been living together for over 2 years though. Together for almost 4 years. We bought our first acreage together about 8 months ago. We knew once we had a home to actually call "ours" and were married, we wanted to start trying. Every marriage is different and everyone has there own "timeline" of when they want things to happen. Maybe he is thinking the same as you, but doesn't know how to approach it? If you really do want to TTC now, I would have that talk with him and see what he says. You should beable to talk about anything now that your married. Good Luck!
