Em was just running around and laughing hysterically when we noticed her lips turn purple. It only lasted a minute but it unnerved us. She has had a lingering cough for nearly 6 weeks now, pertussus test was negative. She was born with a heart murmur but the Dr said at her 18 month check that he couldn't hear it anymore.
Have any of you experienced this?
Re: serious question
Another thing the pedi said was blue is always bad, but purple is often cold. If the child is irritated with his mouth while they are purple it should be checked out quickly by a doctor. We dress him pretty warm now and the only time we notice the purple now is after bath and after swim lessons.
This is our experience with it and I would still check with your pedi! If he were to get them again and if warming him up didn't help I'd take him in!
