Moving to Denton Area

Hello everyone!

I am currently 8w6d pregnant with my first baby and I'm due December 10th! My husband and I are currently living in OKC but within a couple of months will be moving to the Denton/North Texas area.

We have family living in Fort Worth, but I was curious if any mommies had any information about things and resources for expecting moms in the area.

Any info would be great!

First if al, we love Denton. It has a great friendly feel to the town and the city has fun family friendly events like a jazz fest in the summer, music on the square, wassail fest, and other fun events. There are several great restaurants like Hannah's, Cafe loco, the greenhouse, and Sidewalk bistro. You also have to try Beth Marie's ice cream. As far as an OBGYN we use dr christina Dooley. She is wonderful and so is her staff. She is open to whatever kind if birth you want and listens. I have several friends who use her and all say great things about her. We are using a doula for our birth and even our doula said that she really likes working with Dr Dooley. I also like then because I can sign in online to see any test results and an overview if my appointments. There is also a great birthing center in Denton called Inanna. Hi there! We have been in S. Denton/Corinth for just over a year now. I second Dr. Dooley. She was fantastic. I transferred to her during my 3rd trimester and she was so sweet and listened to all of my concerns. She was also very personable. I have heard though that there is somewhat of a long wait to see her nurse practitioners. I loved my delivery at Denton Presby and I attend their breastfeeding support group on Tuesdays.

 I have friends that have delivered at Innana and at All About Babies in Argyle and both say nothing but good things about it.

Hello! Denton has a wonderful group of prenatal care providers! I am a prenatal/pediatric chiropractor in Denton. Depending on how you plan on birthing, whether natural at home or birth center, hospital birth or even VBAC, there are a lot of options in Denton. The two birth centers are great Inanna and All About Babies. And if you plan on having a VBAC or have concerns about csection Dr. Cummings is fantastic.
