What's new with your little babies?
DD is starting to try to stand. She'll stand up holding on to something, let go, hover for 5 seconds and lower herself. No walking, or attempts yet. If we hold her hands to encourage her to walk she curls up her legs. Everything has to be pulled up on though. DH is contemplating getting her a walker to push around for practice, but I think she's hard enough to keep tabs on with her crazy fast crawling, so I'm happy to wait.
No new words, but she's pointing at everything. Now when I pick her up she'll point forward almost like she's trying to say "go that way". On our walks she'll point up at every single tree; she's just fascinated with them.
This week I'll be sending out invites for her birthday. She was one of the late May babies who decided to hold out for June so we still have to wait a little bit, but I can't wait to celebrate her first year.
Re: May 2012 Babies
We turn 1 on Tuesday and we have two bottom teeth. Dr said the top 2 will be making their appearances fairly soon. We are starting to stand by ourselves but no walking yet. He loves to walk/run with his walker toys though.
Nothing else really too crazy... Nothing that u can really think of.
Our party is next Saturday, the very hungry caterpillar is the theme, hopefully the weather will cooperate and be beautiful. And that is where we will announce the new addition coming with a shirt that ill put him in after his smash cake. It says "I might be little, but I'm the big brother" and we are going to record it all and see who notices it and everyone's reactions. I can't wait!!!
I haven't updated on one of these in a while. DD says mom, dad, nana, cat, done and hi. She's been saying them for a while, but it's more obviously with meaning behind the words now. She used to say duck, but doesn't seem to say that anymore. Has that happened to anyone else's LO?
She's walking and getting more comfortable with it. probably like 7-8 steps at a time. She has been playing with passing her ball back and forth to one of us, but today for the first time she rolled it back and forth. She claps her hands when we sing "if your happy and you know it clap your hands". She also claps her hands when I breastfeed her which is super cute. She started bringing us books to get us to read as well, which is super cute. She says vroom when she pushes her truck.
Oh... and I farted and she looked at me and made a fart noise with her mouth. That's a milestone, right?
DS has just started doing tons of things in the last little bit. Crawling like crazy, and pulls up to his knees. He says mama, dada and eighty (for big sis Katie).
He has seven of his front teeth and two top molars.
He's been done with a bottle and baby food for a month now and not turning back.
Birthday party is next Sunday and we're doing the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme at a local park. Hoping for good weather. Can't believe how fast this year has gone!
DD will be 1 on the 29th so we're having a "yellow" party on 6/2. Just everything yellow bright and cheerful. We'll do a more themed one next year.
She now has 7 teeth...4 top and 3 lower. She's a little piggy eating everything she can get her hands on. She LOVES finger food especially veggies and veggie burgers or patties. She does great with her sippy cup and hot shots it a lot flinging it around then drinking from it with one hand.
Her words are Dada or Da, Ba for brother, Ma for milk, Na for nap and Ha for hat which is the word she's currently obsessed with. She definitely understands more. When I ask her where she put something, she'll point and babble about where it is. She has also taken to handing me her paci when she gets up in the morning and when i get her out of the car instead of just flinging it.
She's been cruising, crawling, and pulling up for a couple of months and will walk if you hold her hands but refuses to stand by herself or try to walk even though we thing she can since when you let go of her, she has enough control to stop and slowly bend and sit before crawling. She also has been helping to dress herself by sticking her arms through the armholes by herself and her legs/feet in her bottoms.
Crazy how fast a year goes by! DD will be one on the 17th. She is taking a few steps, but hasn't started walking full time yet. She just started saying and signing "all done" this past week. She signs "more" as well.
Making animal noises when asked and waving/saying bye bye
Trying to run
LOVES cars!
OBSESSED w/ Books! MIL says he said book yesterday while bringing her one too but I haven't heard it myself.
6 teeth, hasn't gotten any in 3 months
Will be 1 on Saturday!
