May 2012 Babies

What's new with your little babies?

DD is starting to try to stand. She'll stand up holding on to something, let go, hover for 5 seconds and lower herself. No walking, or attempts yet. If we hold her hands to encourage her to walk she curls up her legs. Everything has to be pulled up on though. DH is contemplating getting her a walker to push around for practice, but I think she's hard enough to keep tabs on with her crazy fast crawling, so I'm happy to wait.

No new words, but she's pointing at everything. Now when I pick her up she'll point forward almost like she's trying to say "go that way". On our walks she'll point up at every single tree; she's just fascinated with them.

This week I'll be sending out invites for her birthday. She was one of the late May babies who decided to hold out for June so we still have to wait a little bit, but I can't wait to celebrate her first year.

Re: May 2012 Babies

  • It's been WAY too long since I've updated so here we go...
We turn 1 on Tuesday and we have two bottom teeth. Dr said the top 2 will be making their appearances fairly soon. We are starting to stand by ourselves but no walking yet. He loves to walk/run with his walker toys though.
Nothing else really too crazy... Nothing that u can really think of.
Our party is next Saturday, the very hungry caterpillar is the theme, hopefully the weather will cooperate and be beautiful. And that is where we will announce the new addition coming with a shirt that ill put him in after his smash cake. It says "I might be little, but I'm the big brother" and we are going to record it all and see who notices it and everyone's reactions. I can't wait!!!

  • We have a tooth! Finally one of her bottom teeth poked through on her birthday on Friday. We had a small family party yesterday to celebrate We are very happy with the gifts that she received. All were activity based toys that will last a while. Dh and I bought a step two wagon for her and her sister. My parents bought a cozy coup ride in car. She loves both and we will be able to use them for years with her and baby reed

Lo has 6 going on teeth. He is getting to be a fast crawler and can push up and almost cruise but not stand on his own. He had a great birthday party yesterday and didn't want to go to sleep! He is a very neat cake eater so he didn't make that huge frosting face during the party, luckily we took photos in advance and I helped him out for photographic purposes :-) He is also starting to mimic some baby signs. I've seen potty and more...but of course he did those the one day and stopped, but often smiles when I do those signs and say those words and he wants more, or to go to the potty.

I haven't updated on one of these in a while.  DD says mom, dad, nana, cat, done and hi. She's been saying them for a while, but it's more obviously with meaning behind the words now. She used to say duck, but doesn't seem to say that anymore.  Has that happened to anyone else's LO?

She's walking and getting more comfortable with it. probably like 7-8 steps at a time. She has been playing with passing her ball back and forth to one of us, but today for the first time she rolled it back and forth.  She claps her hands when we sing "if your happy and you know it clap your hands".  She also claps her hands when I breastfeed her which is super cute.  She started bringing us books to get us to read as well, which is super cute.  She says vroom when she pushes her truck.

Oh... and I farted and she looked at me and made a fart noise with her mouth.  That's a milestone, right?

She's not really pointing...she reaches out with her hand sometimes, but not using her index finger.

  • Carter has been walking since about 10.5 months.  He now says, Deeezzz for our dogs name (Diesel), "all done", Mama, dada, GO!, and he is almost at the running stage now.  I can't wait for his birthday party in two weeks. :) He is growing so fast!  We also have done the first hair cut, and now he looks like such a big boy.

  • DS has just started doing tons of things in the last little bit.  Crawling like crazy, and pulls up to his knees.  He says mama, dada and eighty (for big sis Katie).

He has seven of his front teeth and two top molars.

He's been done with a bottle and baby food for a month now and not turning back.

Birthday party is next Sunday and we're doing the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme at a local park.  Hoping for good weather.  Can't believe how fast this year has gone!

  • DS just turned one on the 1st, and his party was yesterday. We did a circus theme. He crawls around everywhere, he can stand up on his own for a few minutes, and today he actually took his first two steps! I'm sure he'll be walking soon! He loves pushing his walker around the house. He has his top two teeth and the bottom two just recently broke through. No actual words yet, but he babbles a lot. He points at everything! If I ask him where something his he points to it. He can also point to most of his body parts that I name. His one year checkup is Thursday, and I can't wait to find out how much he weighs and how tall he is. He's pretty big for his age, he's wearing size 18m in clothes and he was over 20lbs at his last checkup. Time sure does fly!

DD will be 1 on the 29th so we're having a "yellow" party on 6/2. Just everything yellow bright and cheerful. We'll do a more themed one next year.

She now has 7 teeth...4 top and 3 lower. She's a little piggy eating everything she can get her hands on. She LOVES finger food especially veggies and veggie burgers or patties. She does great with her sippy cup and hot shots it a lot flinging it around then drinking from it with one hand.

Her words are Dada or Da, Ba for brother, Ma for milk, Na for nap and Ha for hat which is the word she's currently obsessed with. She definitely understands more. When I ask her where she put something, she'll point and babble about where it is. She has also taken to handing me her paci when she gets up in the morning and when i get her out of the car instead of just flinging it.

She's been cruising, crawling, and pulling up for a couple of months and will walk if you hold her hands but refuses to stand by herself or try to walk even though we thing she can since when you let go of her, she has enough control to stop and slowly bend and sit before crawling. She also has been helping to dress herself by sticking her arms through the armholes by herself and her legs/feet in her bottoms.

  • Jax is a late May baby too. He's crawling like a mad man (or baby I should say).. Walks good with his walking toys but doesn't show interest when we try to help him.. Pulls up and stands.. Cruising.. He will take his hands off and can stand for a good bit.. He's saying mom, dad, bye, hi, down, and his version of hello (heh-o). He has 8 teeth.. All 4 top and bottom fronts.. He loves the computer.. And phones.. And Bubble Guppies.. He's still not sleeping through the night.. He points and he knows some things we talk about like the dog, or ball. And his favorite things to do seem to be play peek-a-boo.. Empty the bib drawer.. And help me with laundry.. He either puts it all in the basket.. Or moves everything on one side of him to the other,. lol. He loves to play with cars.. He makes a weird car sound when he does.. He's very cuddly and loving too. He gives hugs and kisses. (awws and mooches)

  • Crazy how fast a year goes by! DD will be one on the 17th. She is taking a few steps, but hasn't started walking full time yet. She just started saying and signing "all done" this past week. She signs "more" as well.

  • LO has been walking for about 5 weeks now and is just about starting to run.  Tooth number 8 finally broke through last week and is still coming up.  I'm hoping she'll get a little break from teething before her molars come up.  She loves music, dancing and books.  She says hi/hey, mama, dada & quack.  Uses hand movement to twinkle twinkle little star.  She'll sign milk, all done, and water.  We've been trying to teach her the sign for diaper but haven't been consistent with it.  If you prompt her and say "A roar means I'm scary!" she'll roar.  It's from the book A kiss means I love you.  15 days till her birthday!
