Mango Puree

I use fresh mango & a few tablespoons of water. No matter how much I puree I can not get the little white stringy things smooth. Feels like your eating hair & DD is particular about her textures. Ideas?

I steamed the mango before I pured it and didn't have issues.

Honestly? I would find a good coupon and buy a jar. I get Beechnut coupons for 1 off 3 jars. It works out to about 17 cents a jar. Cheaper than what I can make it myself for.

I also steam them and don't have this problem.

Try using frozen mango! The consistency seems to be better/smoother with that.

I just cut a slice from the softest part and let him gum it.

Throw them in a paper bag for a few days before pureeing them. I've found that I don't get the strings in the puree if the mango is super ripe.

I also give DD large chunks to chew and suck on.  If I add it to a mixed fruit puree, I'll chop the mango into small pieces before throwing it in the food processor.  Seems to help.
