So I am sort of confounded by DS. He has been taking 4 ozs. of the Wal-Mart generic of Gentlease since he was 6 weeks old. I tried up-ing his intake this week to five ozs. Sometimes he takes all of it, sometimes not. But for the past two days, sometimes he doesn't even take the four. He starts shaking his head away from the bottle and getting frustrated if I try to give him more. For example, he ate 3 ozs at 4:20. He got fussy at 6 and I made him a bottle because I figured he was probably hungry again because he didn't eat as much before. He only drank an ounce. I can't imagine the formula is bothering him now, he's been on it for weeks. There has been no change in his demeanor or spit-up, just his intake. But I can't figure out why he seems to be rejecting the formula all of a sudden. I guess when he's hungry he'll eat, but if he is having an aversion, I want to make the switch sooner than later.
Re: Advice about new strange feeding habits...
Yeah, that's when we switched to the fast flow nipple.
But for what it's worth, our LO also went through a short phase when he slowed down on formula intake. Was for no reason and lasted maybe a week.
