Hey Y'all,
AF was to be here 8 days ago. At 5 days late I went to the Dr. and had a check up they a urine analysis there a BFN. Mind you I had been testing at home all 5 of those were BFN. So my Dr. Proceeds to tell me that I could have PCOS and orders an ultrasound. I have had normal periods since I have been off the pill last October. Why wouldn't she order a blood test this is the first month I have been late on period since. Please shed some light on what I should do. Or if you can help me understand why my DR. Came up with PCOs and no blood preg test.
Re: 8 days late ..... I am confused
We ha dust decided to TTC. Mid April. I wasn't charting yet. I am having ver sore enlarged breasts an weird cramping, I am exhausted more than normal and eating more than normal. I have all the tools to start charting but need AF first to start.
I'm confused as why you went to the dr at 5 days late.
When did you ovulate?
MandJS i have seen your responses to other posts. dont you have advice for people besides are you charting? some people dont chart and just go formit and let god do the work.
I never had a problem with my cycle at all until now. I am looking for advice not to be drilled. I honestly feel like all anyone's response is did u chart did you chart did you chart? I would like some personal stories and some advice to go along with this. Please.
They aren't trying to be snarky, they are asking for some more information to help you. You have been off BC for a little over six months, if can take 6 to 12 months for your cycles to regulate back to what they should naturally be, which is why you might not be late. Every month a women ovulates at different times. Charting is the aid to know when you ovulated that month.
I will say, last time I was TTC I tried charting and it wasn't for me, I'm an open mouthed sleeper and decided to try without vaginally charting for a few months. I got pregnant using the CBE fertility monitor. It obviously wasn't as accurate as charting so I didn't make posts about being late on my period. I never expected my period until I got it.
To answer your question. I think it's a little early to be tested for PCOS and I think you went to the doctor a little to early. I would recommend buying a pack on wondfos and testing at home until you get a positive or until you have been TTC for over a year.
Not charting is fine, but you can't flip out because your period is "late". Charting is the only way to really know when to expect your period because ovulation can vary from month to month (my cycles are very regular and I have ovulated anywhere from CD 11 to CD 17). When you ovulate later, it makes your period later.
Also it is completely unnecessary to go to the doctor because your period is 5 days late and your doctor is a complete quack if he thinks one longer cycle is a sign of PCOS.
My advice is to take a test once a week until you get a positive test, your period or hit CD 60 with no period. If you hit CD 60 call your doc, he or she can prescribe meds to start your next cycle.
