Hello
I'm traveling internationally (just USA to Canada) next month and I need a stroller recommendation. I'll be alone with my 10 month old and I'll also be taking my Ergo (which she'll be in most of the time). I need a good stroller that I can easily fold down with one hand (preferably) to gate check. But something with a good size basket so I can put the diaper bag in it and I'll most likely also need to put our carseat in the main part of the stroller to get through customs. Big plus if I can maneuver it with one hand while I pull my big suitcase with the other.
I was looking at the Chicco Cortina stroller, and also the baby trendsport lite stroller. I love my snap n go with the carseat attached which was what I used last time I traveled by plane. She won't fit in that carseat next month though.
I also want the stroller to be comfy enough for her to ride in while we are away so it's a must that it reclines.
TIA!
Re: Strollers and airline travel
Also look at the jeep Cherokee stroller and contours lite [kinda big when folded, but huge basket]. I was debating between the three of these. I almost bought the jeep stroller, but I ended up using the snap n go while at the airport. Though my 1 year old did not enjoy sitting in it.
I LOVED using my Uppababy G-Luxe in the airport & it was so easy to fold. It's only 11 lbs as well, reclines, and the padding is super soft. DS was 6 months when we used it in the airport. The only problem is the basket is small since it's an umbrella.
I just got a Valco Snap Duo-which is very easy (one step open) to use and lightweight-added bonus is HUGE basket. I think the single is 13 lbs so that might be an option for you as well. It reclines, but the fabric isn't as nice (ie soft) as the G-Luxe since it is splash proof. You can buy a car seat adaptor for it off of Valco's website so it can be used with your Chicco.
It is what they show:

I would not recommend the Cortina. It would be hard to fold one-handed, and does not fold down very small. We had a station wagon when we had the Cortina, and it did not fit in the trunk. We had to fold down half of the back seat in order to get it in the car.
You might consider a City Mini or City Mini GT. Those can fold down with one hand, have a generous basket, and you can maneuver with one hand easily. And they recline almost all the way, DS sleeps in our GT all the time.
