I'm having my second csection may 21st. I was just curious how other drs have done it. For example since I've had one will they cut at my scar or right beside it? I just thought about it. I plan on asking my Dr next week.
Was your first c/s planned or an emergency? My 2nd was a lot more relaxed & recovery was a lot easier. The incision went right over my previous scar and my doctor (who was different then my 1st) was able to remove a lot of the old scar tissue. My new scar is half the size of my first. She even removed a mole for me while she was "down there".
My first wasn't really an emergency but not planned either. I was induced BC DS had the cord wrapped around his neck. I was 39 weeks and he was already 8 lbs. Anyways DS couldn't drop and I wasn't progressing. We did a cs BC my Dr thought it was the cord that was holding him back and it was. He had the cord around his neck and both ankles separately.
So I'm happy I had a cs. There's no way I could have had him naturally.
That's the route I'm going. My 1st csection was fine... I was 3 days in labor, and had an emergency csection, the whole thing prior to the surgery was a nightmare, if I only knew, I would have asked for it the second night labour didn't progress.
And plus I had a fibroid that was removed during the csection, now with my second, I have another very small fibroid to be removed during surgery.
I'm having a second section with this pregnancy too. I was wondering the same thing. I did tell my doctor to remove my first scar & scar tissue to make the new one. Another doctor in a neighboring town will do a small tummy tuck for $500 more at the same time to prevent the upper or lower pooch that sometimes happens!!! It is good to know most say the 2nd is smoother than the 1st!
I just had my rcs and although I can't really see the incision with the steri strips, my OB said he'd use the same incision. MH saw it when the staples were being removed and he says it looked like the same incision as the fist.
My doctor cut right over my previous scar and I got lucky enough since the first didn't heal perfectly straight, she did a little work and the second healed wonderfully. Its been a little over two years since my last and it is barely visible.
