- Lurking - Femara to increase egg quality when already ovulating?

I am lurking and fairly new to TB. I just posted a question in the Infertility DOR checkin post, but I thought you ladies may be able to provide some positive stories! 

I was diagnosed with DOR in Sept 2012. I got pregnant 2 months later, but had a mmc in Feb. My RE thinks it was due to egg quality issues and wants me to start using Femara next cycle to increase my changes of ovulating a quality egg.

My question is: have any of you had a successful pregnancy from taking Femara if you already ovulate?

Hi there! Yes, I did! We did IUI plus femara. Clomid thinned out my lining too much. The cycle we did IUI with femara worked for us. I loved it too bc it doesn't have nearly the side effects clomid has. I haven't heard of it improving egg quality, but it could be possible! If we try for another little one I will for sure be using femara again! Good luck!

I haven't heard of it helping with egg quality, I used it to ovulate a few extra eggs each cycle, up the chances of getting a good one. I did 3 cycles with it, I got 1 egg the first time, 3 the 2nd time and then just one again the 3rd time. Didn't get pregnant on any cycle.

Hi there! I unfortunately don have a success story with Femera but like PP used it in conjunction with IUI and had no lining issues or other side effects with use. By far it was the best oral med I was on!!! Good luck to you!!

Thanks ladies! I actually think this is why my RE wants me to take Femara (to increase the number of eggs and hopefully get one good one.
