Cellulitis

So I felt a knot, then burning sensation, now it's red. Went to the doc, says its infected and called it cellulitis.  Prescribed antibiotics but nervous. Anyone have experience with this. I am 2 1/2 weeks postpartum

Re: Cellulitis

  • From what I know, Cellulitis is not uncommon.  Keep the area as clean as you can, and take antibiotics.  I agree with the other posting.  Watch your symptoms.  You should be fine.  It should clear up fairly quickly.

  • I went to the doctor today and was told I had cellulitis as well. May ask what you were given and were you told that you could breastfeed,if you are that is, with the antibiotic you were given?

I am allergic to quite a few antibiotics so she gave me clindamycin - I am not breast feeding anymore, have had such a horrible time recovering I didn't put my full effort in it, anywho she was very clear in asking if I was breast feeding and was happy I wasn't, assuming because of the antibiotics, def something to talk to them about, might need to supplement while taking yours. Good luck with your recovery, I am on day 3 of the meds and Finally starting to feel some relief!
