I'm 6 weeks pregnant and looking for a midwife in NYC. Considering home birth but not totally sure. This is my first pregnancy, so I will need someone with a lot of patience
Any leads are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Here were the midwives recommended to me by my regular doctor when I first found out I was pregnant. Not sure who, if any, does home births since they are all affiliated with hospitals.

St Luke?s birthing center:
Sylvie Blaustein
Barbara Sellars
Sandy Woods
Beth Israel:
Rochelle Lipshuts
I used sandy woods and her team with my second. Delivered both my babies naturally at st Luke's, they have a birthing center, although there are only three rooms. I highly recommend her group, the backup doctor was my OB, he's great and very, very NB friendly. Sorry not sure on hb options.
I had an amazing homebirth on April 5th in Brooklyn with Stacey Rees - www.clementinemidwifery.com
Her bio, etc. is on her website.
I can't recommend Stacey highly enough. The prenatal care and birth were excellent. She's been getting a little swamped in term of her number of clients, so if she can't take you on, ask her for a recommendation. I would trust anyone she suggests.
Thanks for your suggestions ladies. I currently live in Queens, but will be moving up to Westchester (Carmel) before the baby is born. Hoping to find someone who covers both areas so I don't have to switch. I have an appointment with Linda Perry on Tuesday. I found her on a home birth website. I will also look in to Stacey Rees, I'm happy to hear of your positive experience.

I've heard Bluebird Midwifery is good (for home birth); she's located in Red Hook/Columbia Waterfront district.
I'm with Park Slope Midwives and really like them, but they only do hospital births.
If you're open to other options, have you looked into the Brooklyn Birthing Center (not sure where in NYC you're located).
