My husband adores this name. At first I thought he was kidding, buthe won't let it go. It is not really my style but maybe as a middle. Not pg but having fun wishing i was. What do you think?
We are not Greek, we are Jewish so I feel like it us totally out of left field.

Re: Electra
I think it sounds like a great name for an American Gladiator. Sorry!

This is my question too. And as long as you don't use Carmen as the FN I think its ok.

I havd no idea. That us why I first thought it was a joke. But now he is sticking with it. I think it will change should I get pregnant. I hope anyway

I actually kind-of like it, though I would never use it for my kid, and can understand your hesitation! It's for a strong, sprightly, spirited little girl and was not uncommon in the early twentieth-century.
I had a student once with this name, paired with the surname "Goodluck"
The most memorably-named student I've had!
This. I know siblings named Karisma and Electra. Every time I hear their names, I think of strippers. Which is pretty wrong considering the girls are 7 and 9 years old.
THIS WAS THE WORST MOVIE EVERRRR
Yeahhh
1) I remember DH watching a movie not too long ago about a pregnant porn star named Elektra Luxx, so I wonder if that's where your husband is pulling it from?
2) I don't live the story of Electra from Greek mythology, especially because of it's more recent connection with psychology (The Electra Complex) which is especially eerie given your husband's insistence on it.
I just looked it up and that certainly is a horrible association.
This. I don't get stripper from it at all, but the mythological association is weird.
That said, if the only price I had to pay to choose ANY first name I wanted was to have Electra as the middle name, I'd probably take that bargain. We have a tough time agreeing on names.
This!! Hahahahahahahaaaaaa!
Monster Truck (It's a GIRL!) is due 19/02/2015!
This! We almost used Electra for our daughters middle name.
