So I have been letting LO try a few homemade solids. Applesauce, sweet potato and bananas. He had his 6 mo visit yesterday ane we are going to start really getting into solids. I will be making my own. The pedi we saw, which isnt our regular one, wasn't too informative on foods. She just told me to look at our 6 month packet which didnt help me either. What does your babys feeding schedule look like with the incorporation of solids? How much, how many times a day...what foods?

Re: Solids help!
We are doing just one pure a day, weekends 2 right now. She eats between 12 oz at a time, not a lot.
DS does really well with solids. We do 3 meals a day - B,L,D. I make all his food. For the first couple of weeks, we mostly did single-ingredient purees. Now that he's been on solids for over a month now, we give him a very varied diet.
B is always fruit and a small spoonful of full fat yogurt. The fruit varies depending on what's in season. It was pears for a while and now mostly mangoes. Also tried papaya today.
L is regular oatmeal, about 2-3 oz I guess? I add some BM to thin it and also add fruit. I want to expose DS to tree nuts so I pound some almonds & walnuts into paste and add that in.
D depends on what I'm making that night. If it's something soft, he'll just eat what we eat (eg, fish, pasta, frittata, bulgur pilaf, rice porridge, baked potatoes/sweet potatoes). I gave him tofu and minced shrimp last night.
ETA: it's hard to judge how much I give him to eat esp if he's eating off our plates. If I give him frozen puree veggies, I usually give him 2-3oz plus 1" of banana. I always nurse him before his meal time.

Our IVF miracle, Baby Boy M, arrived on 11/8/2012!
We are on 3 times a day and 3-4 oz per feeding. We started off at once a day and slowly increased it. I give him a bottle first and maybe 15-30 minutes later, I feed him his solids.
Foods he's eating: Sweet potato, oatmeal, mixed grains, peas, carrots, bananas, avocados, mangos, pears, apples, squash, kiwis, plums, eggs and chicken.
Follow your LO's lead. Some days he'll eat more, others not so much.
Dinner is a yellow veggie and a green veggie. We've done green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, and squash. She gets about 2 oz of each of those.
I've also done strawberries and bananas in the mesh feeder. Strawberries make a huge mess, but she loves it.
