DS is 7 1/2 months and is still only using the Avent Soothie pacifier (size 0-3 months). He refuses the next size. Anyone else have this problem? I hope it doesn't affect anything (ie. Teeth, speech, etc.)
We are in the same boat with the Mams and I've asked around and found it really just depends.
I've also heard that the difference is size and sometimes they are thicker plastic to help them not chew threw them when they have teeth. I've heard there is no issue with staying with the smallest size the whole time.

Yes, I do find that the difference is that it's thicker. It doesn't stay in their mouth as well as the smaller size. That or they are just spitting it out!

I asked DS's doctor if this was an issue and he said it wasn't (as far as the teeth growing go). There is no issue with staying with the smallest size.

DD won't take the 3mo + one either. Like PP's said, its just sturdier. No worries!
