Twins are fussier when together

I have fraternal girl twins that are 10 weeks old. Starting around 4 weeks every time we put them together they both start really fussing. I always heard twins would calm each other down and enjoyed being together, but neither of mine seem to like the other right now.
Is this normal?

  • I'm sorry to hear that! My boys love being together. They actually lick one another and it cracks me up.

Maybe it's a phase? Perhaps they want you more? I hope they get over it soon. Sorry I can't help!

mine just set each other off. i don't think they don't like each other, but if one starts fussing, the other usually joins in.

TTC since May 2006. After 3 failed Clomid cycles, 2 failed Injectibles/IUIs, 2 failed IVFs and 1 failed FET, we moved on to adoption!

Last ditch FET resulted in BFP, and identical twin girls!

Ours have been like that until the past couple weeks. Now that they can both get around and sit up they are intrigues by one another and like to play together. They even laugh at each other. I am sure with time yours will come around too.

  • My guys seemed very indifferent to each other at first (and could totally tune each other out), but, starting around 15 weeks, they all of a sudden started noticing each other and interacting. Now they smile and coo at each other....and try to grab each other's arms and gnaw on each other's hands when we lay them down close to each other (teething fun!) Like everything w/ LOs, I would think it's a phase that will lead to another phase and then another.....

My boys HATE being near each other.  It will set off a massive round of tears.  In the last few days though (when we hit 13 weeks) they are slowly starting to smile at each other from a distance but please do not put them on the same play mat, same couch cushion or anywhere they can touch each other.  Baby A is much worse but it may be because baby B was on his head the entire pregnancy.
