Why never face the baby forward?

Just curious.  We have a Boba carrier and I was just looking at the instructions to see what some of the features are for and read not to face the baby forward.  I don't have a problem with not wearing LO facing forward, but I'm just wondering what the reason is - for curiosity!

the baby isn't as supported, it's not a natural position for them. That said, I faced my DD forward a handful of times in the (gasp) bjorn, and she liked it.   I wouldn't do it for hours on end, but it was fine.

It's difficult to achieve correct positioning (baby supported to the knees with the knees slightly higher than the bum) in a FF position.  It's also harder on the wearer's back because baby's weight is dangling away from your center of gravity vs. snugged into your core.  And it doesn't allow a baby who is getting overstimulated to "hide" by snuggling into the wearer.  A hip carry or a high back carry in a woven wrap or mei tai gives baby the same view without any of the negatives.
