I think dh is on board with Eleanor (although he will refer to her as Ellie, which is fine).
He wants to use Eleanor Marie. I don't for two reasons.
1) I am not a fan of middle names like Marie, Ann, Lynn, Grace, Rose etc..
2) If (and I know it may not happen) my sister has a girl her name would be Nora Marie. I know middle names are different but Eleanor Marie and Nora Marie are way to similar for me. I did tell her that the middle name is the same and the first name is pretty similar (dh doesn't want to share names until it's set; she said she wouldn't care)
Marie is the middle name of our mom, her mil (which is why she likes it), and dh's sister (which is why he likes it).
I've been working on a list today for mn's. I've got Kate, Paige, Ruth, Brooklyn/Brooke, Joy, Dawn.
Give me some some ideas please?
Re: Middle name for Eleanor
I like your pick of Eleanor Dawn. Other suggestions:
Eleanor Michelle
Eleanor Nicole
Eleanor Jade
Eleanor Raquel
Eleanor Justine

Is it bad that 'Rigby' was the first thing that came to my mind? (No, I'm not actually suggesting that)
I think since Elanor is such a classic name it should have a more clasic middle name. But I'm also not a big fan on the generic middle names everyone goes for (Lee, Ann, Marie, Ect.)
Someone said Nicole. I like that. A lot. Maria sounds good with it, but Nora Marie and Elanor Maria are just too close for comfort (even though I know that may not happen if she has a boy). For some reason I really think it should be 3 syllables and end in A though. Somewhere there's a website that generates sibset type names for existing siblings. But it's really good for finding middle names too.
