Cloth diaper moms

DS#1 has major skin issues and his pedi recommended that we switch to cloth. I'm wondering if it's worth it to put both kids in cloth. If I'm already going to spend the money for larger ones, #2 could grow into them. Has anyone CD 2u2? I already feel like I spend my life doing laundry, will be that much more? FWIW we're done having kids, so it's just the two to think about. Thanks!

I had 2 in CDs and will be doing it again soon.  If you are going to use cloth with one you may as well use cloth with both.  I wash diapers every other day.  It's really not that much more laundry.  You can either spend lots of money and go with all in one diapers or pockets or go the less expensive route and use prefolds and covers. 

I suggest going over to the Cd board for more information on diapers and such.  Just know that CDing 2u2 is really not that bad AND you are saving a ton of money in the long run.  After DS2 wears them you can sell them!!

I CD both my girls and so far it is going well.  We wash every day, but we didn't add many diapers to our stash when S was born and now that she doesn't need several diaper changes overnight, we can probably go back to every other day.  Once you get into the routine, the laundry part isn't bad.

We use BumGenius 4.0s which are one size pockets, so the same diapers work on both girls.  This is great because we don't have to dig through a pile of diapers to find a specific size, and if we are out and I run out of newborn sized diapers I can just snap down a larger diaper and voila!  BGs are all I've ever used though, so I'm sure there are advantages to sized diapers, prefolds, etc.  You can get a lot of information from the CD board!

I think CDing 2 makes it more worth it, financially especially, that using CDs with 1. With 2u2 you really dont want to have to worry about buying diapers or ever running out, just one less thing to think about. It may create an extra load of laundry but its one less time I have to leave out the house to go get something that I probably forgot because I took all my kids to the store and they were driving me crazy.

My plan is to buy some nb then sell those off when the LO gets bigger to buy a few more OS so that I can CD 2 for awhile until DS is PT.
