Applied for a job To call or not to call

I applied for a job a month ago and I noticed today that it is still posted. It is for a non-profit school that is located five minutes from my house. The job would be doing development and communications. Currently I manage corporate giving and communications. While I have not done development for a non-profit, I have over 6 years experience working with non-profits, reviewing grants, funding grants etc? I really think I am a perfect fit for this job. I am eager to get out of the defense industry and where I live there are lots of schools, but most want educational experience. I am on the fence should I call to confirm they received my resume and express my interest? So many places don?t want applicants calling. The advertisement does not say if phone calls are acceptable. I miss the old days when resumes were accepted via snail mail LOL. Part of me says it can?t hurt but I don?t want to be black balled for calling either.

I would call. Many places like it when someone calls to confirm that they got the resume. It couldnt hurt!

As long as it doesn't say "no calls" then you should call. I got my first job by following up by phone - there was a stack of resumes and when I called, mine was put on top. Call!

Definitely call. I always call bc I like to know one way or the other.

I would call. And look at their board list/staff list and see if you know anyone who could put in a good word for you.
