6 month grow spurt??

So  LO is a pretty easy baby ( knock on wood). The only time he fusses or cries is when hes really tired or really hungry. He is pretty predictable and follows a pretty good routine. Naps once in the morning and once maybe twice in the afternoon. He goes to bed at 8 every night like clockwork and usually sleeps 7 hours, eats then back down for another 2-3. He just turned 6 mo yesterday. Well for the last week, hes been acting so weird! He screamed all of Thursday night and wouldnt sleep...I attributed it to teething since he was holding his mouth funny and shoving his fist in there with drool pouring out. Then Fri/Sat he was fine. Sunday, fussed and whined all day and wouldnt nap and developed a slight fever. He had a fever Monday too and wouldnt sleep at night. Yesterday I get a call from daycare saying he was crying all day again and wouldnt nap again. Today I called daycare and she said hes very pleasant and has been napping for 2 hours now! What in the world is going on? Could this be teething or something else?
