Stopping meds after IVF... so nervous!

Today is my 11-weeks-pregnant mark after doing IVF with donor eggs and my clinic has me stopping progesterone and estrogen cold turkey. I am so nervous! I've heard some women spot/cramp after stopping. Anyone else stop after an IVF and what was your experience? Any advice/reassurance would be appreaciated.

I did IVF but didn't use donor eggs. I stopped progesterone and estrogen cold turkey at 12 weeks 6 days, per my OB and RE. I didn't have any spotting or cramping associated with stopping. It was stressful worrying about it but so far everything is okay. The placenta had taken over hormone production by the time I stopped so that gave me peace of mind. I think it takes over around 11 weeks? I can't remember exactly.

With my fresh cycle that gave us DS I stopped PIO at 11 weeks cold turkey with no issues. With the FET that resulted in my current pregnancy I stopped PIO at 10 weeks with no issues. By now the placenta is producing all the progesterone you need and your body is ready to take over. I know it is nerve wracking, but you will be fine! Congratulations on your pregnancy!!!

My RE had me stop cold turkey at 12 weeks.  I was so nervous too!  I had some brown spotting, but other than that, everything was fine.

I stopped both cold turkey at 10w. The only thing I noticed was an increase in morning sickness, which I had heard could happen with stopping progesterone. Although, the increase could have easily been due to the stage in pregnancy. I know it is scary, but don't worry! Your RE has done this hundreds of times and he or she wants your pregnancy to succeed nearly as much as you do. Best wishes for a great rest of your pregnancy!

I stopped cold turkey as well at 13 weeks. I didn't have any spotting and didn't notice a difference in anything. It was very nerve wracking especially since I had zero symptoms but it all turned out well!

Wow, thanks for all the responses everyone. I guess the worst that could happen is a little brown blood, as one member said, and even then it's nothing to worry about. Thanks again!
