Best Convertible carseat for SUV?

We're purchasing an Acura MDX in the next month or so and will be getting LO a convertible carseat at the same time. We're between a Britax marathon or boulevard, diono radian, or combi cocorro. Does anyone have that car, or a car that size, and can give input on the carseat that would fit the best? Thanks!

Re: Best Convertible carseat for SUV?

  • I don't have an mdx, but I do have a mid sized SUV. The radian will fit your child the longest and will rear face longer if you want to do that. I would also look at the chicco nextfit, it is supposed to be really easy to install and fit in cars.

Those are some good suggestions.  I have a Santa Fe (with leather seats) and had no problem installing our Safety 1st Complete Air 65-rear facing behind me (we have to use both sides because we are expecting LO 2) at the right angle for him.  It has extended RF (40 inches/40 lbs) and was really easy to install. I've also had no problem putting LO RF in his seat at 18 months-even though I'm 9 months pregnant right now.  It also has the air protect feature that actually keep his head from slumping when he naps.

  • We had no issues with an Evenflo Triumph DLX in an Equinox ('08).  Huge carseat and medium sized SUV, so I would imagine you would be more than set.  Evenflo is about the size of a Britax.

  • My parents have an Acura truck and I recently switched them from a Maxi Cosi Pria 70 to a Clek Foonf. Both fit well.

  • We have a Radian in our MDX. It fits well with the angle adjuster. We have a Graco MySize/Size4Me in our mini-van, and that would fit as well in the MDX.
