Bug Spray?

Can anyone recommend a family friendly bug repellent? The mosquitos here rival Cadillacs in size. Previously we have used Deep Woods Off, but I didn't realize how "bad" it is for you. I am looking for something that I can spray on my Big Kids, and that I don't have to wash off before I hold the babies. Does such a miracle product exist?

I have California Baby. I've had it maybe three years...there's so much of it left. I hope it is still effective after all that time.

I tried to get away from chemicals last summer when I was pregnant and I found an awesome bug spray at my local farmers market. It worked so well. It was made of a lot of the things Daylights posted. It smelt incredible...cant remember the scent though...lemon grass maybe. Anyways it was completely safe for kids and she said I wouldn't even need to wash them off before bed if I didn't want to. I would check out your farmers market!

Hi ladies sorry I was MIA. Yes, it seemed to work well on the "city" bugs. I haven't tested it on the "mountain bugs"

I buy a 8 oz spray bottle but you can do larger...

I put in 3oz witch hazel, 2 oz water. 1 oz apple cider vinegar,

Then I add the scent you can do a mix of various things. If you're going to make this I'd google different options. I put in roughly 40 drops of stuff totally I play with it for balance. It does smell "earthy" but keeps them off.

Lavender, tea tree, clove, lemon or lemongrass and rosemary.

Like I said there are a lot of choices. The main ones are in the citrus or mint family.

Optional oil
The oil helps it spread on a little easier. I've read about olive oil being used or vegetable. But after doing research I came across someone who used vitamin E. I pop open a few capsules instead of using liquid. It worked great and made our skin soft.
