Every night and morning I use a wash cloth to wash DS's face. To say he flips out is an under statement. Anyone deal with this as well? How do you get LO to stay still and calm while removing food from face and crust from nose (DS HATES this). I think he feels like he can't breathe when I do that.
Re: Washing LOs face
I try to clean smaller areas rather than cover LOs face entirely with the wash cloth. If we are going after the nose area, I do one nostril at a time with my pointer finger and try to keep her mouth clear.
We use really warm water so it's comfortable and sing or make funny noises to keep her occupied during...
Under the neck is a different story...that's a battle.

Under the neck is easy for us! It's the face that is the problem. We also only do one area at a time instead of covering his entire face with the wash cloth. I will try the singing!
I do it at the sink so she can watch herself in the mirror -we make faces while we clean!
This is exactly what I do, DS is fine.
This!
This. When her face gets dirty after meals I give her a damp was cloth to play with. She sucks on it and rubs it on her face and had a grand time and usually gets the worst of it off.
I'm not too uptight about having her perfectly clean. I am more into to fun and play than clean.... But my husbands affectionate name for me is Messy. Mobile smiley face.
I also take a bath with her every night and she loves playing in the tub. I sprinkler water over her head and we sing and play with the wash cloth so she always goes to bed squeaky clean.
