Packer... Kitty advice?

We have two beautiful 7 month old kitties. They are energetic and friendly.

However I can not get them to stop scratching the furniture or the carpet,

They have two scratching posts, toys, trimmed nails.

When I was a child my cats were declawed so we never had that problem,

DH still  thinks that cats can be declawed but i have explained that most vets no longer do it as it is like cutting off the tip of your finger.

Any advice  on what we can do ??

Google soft claws...is that something you think would work?

I just googled them because I had never heard of Soft Claws. How funny that you can get them in different colors! It's like acrylics for cats!

Just saw this, and thought you might also be interested in a Scat Mat.  Friends of ours had great success with it.  It gives a tiny shock to the cat when they touch the furniture.  Our friends slowly lowered the shock and eventually turned it off completely, then switched to just a piece of plastic and then removed it completely.  The Soft Claws are also a good trick.
