Diaper dilemma

I never really had a problem with diapers before because Grant never drank enough to have really wet diapers. Well now he is a potty machine. We are having leaks and blow outs on a regular basis. We use the comforts brand diapers from Kroger. He is in a size four. They say they are for 22lbs to 37lbs. Grant is just now hitting that low end weight. He is around 22 lbs. Does it make sense to go up a diaper when he is barely in the size four weight range?

Am I just using crap diapers? No pun intended. What should I be doing differently?

  • Maybe the diapers are too big?

  • He has been in fours for months now. I can't imagine trying to squeeze him into threes.

  • We went to size fives at around twenty pounds. Maybe 18? They just fit Kitty much better even though the weight limit said she could be in fours for a while longer.

  • Can't hurt to try other brands. I love Huggies but a lot of people have specific brands they like and dislike.

  • How does Kroger fit? We like Pampers or Target because they fit Austin well. He doesn't too well with Huggies- they are usually too small- regardless of the size, he always has blow outs with them.

  • Someone gave us a pack of Kroger Comforts and I didn't really care for them. It wouldn't hurt to try another brand, just to see.
  • It could be the brand. Some brands just don't fit Eli well so we stick with Pampers. He always leaked through Huggies and WalMart brand.

  • We typically use Pampers.
Well recently we decided to save money and buy the parents choice diapers from WalMart.
They're just fine during the day, but a lot of leaks through the night.

Generic brands aren't as stretchy, so we've definitely had more blowouts with them.  Maybe try Luvs?  We haven't had any problems with these and the price is good.  Good prices on amazon too.

  • We use 7th generation diapers and I have to move DS when he is close to the starting weight.  He is a chunk though so it might be his chunky thighs but that's when I move him up.  We've never had issues.
