Hi everyone! I am 5 plus days late for my monthly flow, and have all the classic symptoms... Sore boobs, light cramping, sour taste in my mouth, and just an overall feeling that I"m pregnant. The only thing is that I am not able to have a test prove I'm pregnant. I read that many women can't turn a test to be positive until they are about they are a couple months in... not sure why, but I guess some women's hormone levels are low and they can't turn a test? Figures I would be one of those women! lol
Anyone here ever pregnant and didn't turn a test? It's driving me crazy! I know that it's possible that I might not be pregnant, and I'm not asking u to tell me if I"m pregnant or not... I'm just wondering if anyone has been pregnant and didn't turn a test right away. AHHHH! Driving myself craze-balls!
Wishing you all baby dust on your TTC journey! Good luck ladies!
Re: Am I preggo? 5 days late...
Positive test= pregnant. Negative test= not pregnant.

HPTs are very sensitive & very accurate. If the tests are coming back negative, then you are not pregnant at this time. Test once a week until you get a positive & go see your Dr if you get to 60 days with no period. You may have O'd later than you think & could be testing early, but in general if you are having pregnancy symptoms you should be able to turn a HPT positive. Pregnancy symptoms mimic PMS all the time, it's a total mindfvuck.

What is with these women today?
Happy Tuesday y'all!
Yep. That's why I called her a fisherwoman. She should have just put in a warning before her post that said "this is mud and I'm trying to piss TTGP off."

"... and have all the classic symptoms... Sore boobs, light cramping, sour taste in my mouth," ...
I'm thinking it's not a coincidence.
Again. I asked if anyone has had this experience. Not for a bunch of rude responses from a bunch of mean women. I thought this was a place to ask questions as we all try to get pregnant. What is wrong with you people?
And about my signature, I wanted Starfish, but it was already taken so I had to change it around. I just wanted stories and opinions like I saw on the other site. Women sharing stories about what they went through. Wow there are a lot of bitter betties and ignorant comments around here. Whatever.
Motherf?cking BINGO!

I have been pregnant twice. Both times I had a positive test at 10 DPO. My ONLY symptom was a positive test. I otherwise felt like I normally do when my period is about to start. I didn't have pregnancy symptoms until about 6 weeks along.

I'm sorry to tell you that is not true. Modern pregnancy tests, unlike tests in the 80s, are very very very sensitive and pick up a tiny amount of HCG. You might hear stories about his because our mothers and aunts had to wait until they were two weeks late for their period before using a home pregnancy test.
https://history.nih.gov/exhibits/thinblueline/timeline.html
Women who do not test positive until they are a month late actually ovulated late and therefore were not actually pregnant when they "falsely" tested negative.

Fishstar- HPT's are pretty accurate, but I disagree that negative pregnancy test = not pregnant. If you get a negative pregnancy test, chances are you are not pregnant however my sister is an example of it's not always true. She peed on lots and lots of sticks before it actually read pregnant and now she's 20 weeks. She had to go to the doctor to get a blood test to confirm since the HPT's didn't detect it.
That being said, you have to wait and wait for AF to come before the doctor will even take you in. Test once a week until a BFP or AF shows up.
I agree with this. When I was pregnant with my daughter and my son I was two weeks "late" for my period when I turned a test positive, but in reality I probably just ovulated later than usual. So by the date of my LMP I was already 6ish weeks pregnant by the time I got a positive test. Now, I just had a cp last cycle. I got a positive test the same day af arrived that time. This is why charting/temping is a good idea! (Except that my temps are telling me nothing at all, but I digress.) Good luck OP.

All are welcome
No. Please don't tell people to go to the doctor for a blood test. It is most likely that your sister ovulated way later than she thought, making her "very late". It is very, very , very rare that a pregnant woman cannot turn a HPT positive within a reasonable timeframe (16DPO or less). This is because those women don't metabolize HCG into their urine. This is not the case for 99.999999% of women.
The last part of your advice is correct (test weekly until BFP or AF). IF you get to 60 days without either, call your doctor.
This is what I want to know.
BFP April 24, 2018 | EDD December 29, 2018
My first mc I didn't turn a test until 6 weeks but then I also wasn't paying attention and didn't even think to test until then..... I am guessing most of these women might be the same? I had a friend who didn't think to test until she missed her 3rd period. So she could be classified as one who didn't turn a test until 2nd tri right?
