I am OBSESSED with these bags... Especially the backpack !! Soo cute! And babysteals.com had them on sale yesterday and it was sooooooo hard not to get one! But I'm saving up for the one I really want. I just wish they weren't so expensive! Okay ... Vent or pity party over.
Re: Petunia pickle bottom
HA! This made me chuckle!
Mom to Cam and Al, now expecting baby number 3, August 2016. Praying for lots of sticky baby dust!
I struggle with this one.
I know it will become my purse for a long time.
But they're SO EXPENSIVE. And you put sh itty diapers in them.
I registered for a bag that's like $70 and that even seems ridiculous to me... but I keep looking at the PPB bags and drooling. Ugh. What to do?
There's a part of me that TOTALLY agrees with this. I never buy stuff just because of name brand but I've been looking at diaper bags since my BFP and have not found one that I like! And I love their set up. I've been debating on spending that money for like 3 weeks..... And I just can't stop thinking about it so I'm just gonna suck it up and save up. Plus the one I want I found on eBay for. 100. ::mobile smiley::
I have a different take on this. I think it is worth spending money on a good bag since it is the bag you carry all the time. I bought a very expensive bag but I don't carry two bags (purse/diaper bag) I wanted one bag. So the one I bought is my every day bag. I carry it to work every day and then on weekends I stock it with whatever baby needs necessary. I needed something that would look godd with a suit and going to the park. To me it is worth the investment especially if you plan on having more babies and are goig to carry it for a few years. Why buy a cheap POS when you will just have to replace it or it looks like hell after a while? Just my two cents
I love mine - worth every penny! I've had it for 2 years and it hasn't shown any wear. No need to get a second bag even with #2 on the way. I'd absolutely buy it again!
And I'm a well known penny-pincher. This bag is worth it.
I agree with you but just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's good quality and vice versa. I had a PPB with my first and by the time I was done using a diaper bag, it was in tatters. They are not good quality bags at all. The fabric is thin and not well stitched at all. It tore and snagged so easily.
If you can afford it and you love the bag then I say go for it. It will basically become your purse for the next year so I can understand someone spending that much. I've personally never really cared for the busy patterns of bags like PPB and Vera Bradley.
I just spent $55 on the Skip Hop Versa bag and it is cute like a purse and very functional.
Completely agree. I actually do not like the PPB bags at all. But they just are not my style. I have a very good quality bag that so far has lasted one year and still looks great.
Anyone have any luck/experience with JJ Cole? That's the brand I registered for just because I like how it looks and it seems to be a good size for me... opinions welcome, since we're on the subject!
My old diaper bag with DS is a JJ Cole. It has held up very well and is still in "like new" condition after 2+ years of daily use. In fact, since it's a neutral black messenger style DH will be carrying it as his bag for the baby. I just bought a new Skip Hop that looks more like a purse for me to carry.
One tip, is the messenger bag style is not the most roomy bag and I occasionally had to stuff things in there. We are CD'ing this time so I already know that the bag won't be big enough for daily use (for diapers plus all my normal purse stuff that will go in it).
