PROM Preemies

Well I've been admitted to the hospital for leaking fluid! My doc says I will be here until baby is born! I will be 24 weeks Wednesday. I had to get steroid shot today and the next day and also antibiotics in cause of infection! I've havent had any bleeding or cramping! I had a ultraound today and baby weighed 1lb and 6oz.she was very active. We could see her practice breathing on the ultrasound. I still have alittle bit of fluid left only like 3cm. Have any of you ladies been through this? If so how early was your sweet babies born? I wanted to post here since my baby may be a preemie! Any info would be appreciate!

I pPROMed at 29w2d, and I didn't deliver until 33w4d. I got both steroid shots. My twins weighed 4lbs5oz and 3lbs8oz. They were both born breathing room air and never needed help breathing. They spent 23 days in the NICU just growing and learning to take bottles. Good luck!!

I had PROM at 24 weeks too actually it was 23w5d. I had no signs of PTL whatsoever. I also had steroid shots and antibiotics. I don't remember what they said he weighed exactly, but it was close to 1lb. Anyway, I held on for two weeks and had him at exactly 26 weeks. He was born 2lbs. 1oz. and measured 13 inches long. I have heard and read of others on this board that have held on longer.
I am sorry that you have to go through this experience. It is definitely scary. Everyone on this board is very helpful so please ask or vent anything. I hope your LO stays put for as long as possible!

I was admitted to the hospital at 22w6d with suspected pPROM and held on for 24 days until I was 26w2d.  My daughter was born at 1 pound 12 ounces and spent 83 days in the NICU.  The steroid shots definitely help.  I hope that you can keep that baby in for many weeks still.
