Parenting after a Loss

Recommend a lightweight stroller

Mobile: recommend your light weight or umbrella stroller.
We are using the jogging stroller that came with DDs Carseat but now that she no longer uses the infant Carseat, the stroller just seems so bulky. I am looking for something easy to take around the neighborhood and in stores. Any recommendations? Also DH thinks they should have shoulder straps like our jogging one does but the one we looked at didn't have them, is that common?

Re: Recommend a lightweight stroller

  • I have serious stroller envy for the new chicco umbrella stroller. It looks ahmazing, and comes in awesome colors. Sadly, for me, it only comes as a single, not a double.

  • I have used a Zooper Twist and really like it. I bought a Zooper Tango which is the double version. It's like an umbrella stroller on crack with an awesome shade.

  • If you're concerned with budget, we've had good luck with the First Years Ignite.  We got ours off Amazon, but Google shows it a little cheaper off Walmart online.  The sunshade isn't great and I think when/if we have subsequent kids it will need to be replaced...but for $60 that isn't a big deal.  It doesn't have a shoulder strap.

This.  The sunshade and fabric alone on the G-Luxe is AMAZING. It also has a shoulder strap. I wish they had a double. :( I ended up getting a Valco Snap Duo for the double and it is a great lightweight stroller-it opens in one step and is lightweight.  The sunshade is better than most doubles as well. The fabric is closer to the City Mini's though (not soft like the G-Luxe)-but it has a HUGE basket. I think the single is only 2 more lbs than the G-Luxe.  Depends on what you are looking for.

  • Our light weight stroller us the Chico lite way. I love that it has the ability to lie flat. It is great for when I don't want to bring the regular stroller, we have an uppababy vista.

  • We LOVE our UPPA Baby umbrella stroller - I believe it's a G-Luxe.  I can lift it into the back of the car with one arm, and it drives super smooth.

  • I got the First Years Jet on Amazon.  It was only $40.  It does have cupholders, which a lot of umbrella strollers don't.  The basket underneath is tiny, but better than nothing.  I bought it for travel, because I didn't want the airline beating up my full sized stroller, but it is so light and easy I seem to use it most of the time now.  And it does have shoulder straps.

  • I have a 3 1/2 year old MacLaren Volo - it is super light, folds easily and even has a strap that allows you to carry it like a bag.

I recently bought a Graco FastAction three-wheel stroller because I wanted something good to go out on walks while DD is young. I'm hoping to try it out this week.
