Washing soda

An ingredient in a lot of home made detergents is washing soda but I just got back from rite aid and couldn't find it anywhere. Where can I find that and in what department?

Grocery store is the only place that has it I've found.

I've found it in all my local grocery stores in the laundry aisle.  It's usually near things like OxyClean, Fels Naptha, etc.

I find it in the laundry aisle near the oxyclean. Walmart and Target both have it in my area. I have heard you can also buy it at pool supply stores... It also goes by the name soda ash.
