1st Trimester

Anyone dieting pre-BFP?

I have been on a good diet/exercise routine since the beginning of the year. I've lost 31 pounds and am thrilled. I'm finding it hard to switch gears though from weight loss. How are you transitioning? I don't want to go crazy and eat everything in sight. I'd like to gain a moderate amount of weight so I don't have to work as hard after this baby as I did after my first. So how have you altered your diet since you found out you were pregnant?

  • I was counting calories before and working out a lot.  I am still doing both.  I am add some calories now that I am pregnant, but I am not going to let myself get out of control.

  • I was before BFP.  I lost 20 pounds.  Unfortunately, exhaustion and sickness and food aversions have had me totally forget about my healthy ways.  It makes me sad. But then I think about how during this time it's OK, and expected to gain.  Once I'm in 2nd tri, I hope to get back to being healthy and wanting/enjoying healthy foods and having energy to exercise more.  OP I see that you are just at 4 weeks, so this may be the same for you when the exhaustion and sickness set it...or maybe you'll be lucky and not have to deal with this.

  • I was trying to lose weight before BFP.  I am still making healthy food choices the majority of the time, am still exercising and have added enough calories to put myself at maintenance on MyFitnessPal.
