Highlights Safe?

Just wondering if/when it is safe to get your hair highlighted during pregnancy? I'm almost 12 weeks and am itching for a hair makeover. Lol

Yes highlights and hair color are both safe throughout pregnancy.

Ask your doc. Mine always says to wait until 2nd tri to mess with hair coloring.

Yes, mine specifically listed that they were OK in my paperwork.  It did say to make sure your salon is well ventilated so you aren't breathing a lot of fumes.  This applies to manis and pedis too.

I'm not sure what the ins and outs of it are (i don't color), but a lot of obs rec waiting till 2nd tri, so i'd check w/ob (and maybe ask why).

I am actually a cosmetologist and your can color and highlight your hair while pregnant. Just make sure you are in a well ventilated area. I was actually still in hair school when I was pregnant with my first and had colored my hair ALL the time. They do say your hormones can cause the color to come out slightly different than the actual color. Like maybe a little lighter/darker than what you thought it would
