Postpartnum Bleeding and Hemmoroids ?

It has been 4 1/2 wonder weeks since I delievered my baby girl.  I have a few questions about PP.  Last week, I had basically stopped bleeding and was no longer wearing any pads.   Since delivery, I have noticed that when I have a BM that blood will be in the toilet and when I wipe blood comes from the butt area.  In the hospital, they had me take stool softener.  I had stopped after a week or so because the package said to not take longer than a week.  But I am wondering if I need to start taking them again because it appears I am straining.  Or could it be hemmoriods?  The blood is occuring basically with every BM. 

 With the PP bleeding, yesterday I noticed that the blood started again.  This time it is bright red in color and basically drips to the point it changes the water/pee color in toilet when I pee.  It is not so heavy that it is soaking a pad in a short period of time.  Just wondering if it is normal to basically stop bleeding and then restart?   Or should I be concerned about this change?

I was told at discharge the bleeding could come and go for up to 8 weeks.

Im only 12 days pp but I find my bleeding increases after a bowel movement, I assume from the pressure. Actually most of my clots has passed during or after a BM. Blood may be "dripping" towards your bottom while you sit on the toilet? Of you could have hemmoriods?

Are you SURE you have hemorrhoids? Because I have them, for the first time in my life, and trust me, I know I have them. I can't even sit straight up without feeling pain, and having a BM is a painful, and infrequent, event. I agree with PP who suggested it could be vaginal bleeding dripping back.

As for the normal postpartum bleeding, I've been told it can come and go, and mine has started to do this. I notice I bleed more on days when I'm more active.

Ditto this. Though sitting is getting easier everyday but I do a lot of leaning back, rarely sitting straight up.

You might have a little tearing from straining? The doc told me vaginal bleeding might stop and restart...totally normal there.
