I have finally met my match! I have a pretty good pain tolerance, but these laminarias I have are getting the best of me... Its not even pain really, but rather constant annoying cervical cramps. Like CONSTANT! It also makes me feel like I constantly have to go #2 (sorry TMI) but I know I dont have to go, its just the pressure like feeling I'm guessing. Not to mention i'm a server and yesterday was a long 12 hour day on my feet, and I have another shift tonight thats hopefully shorter.
Point of the laminaria:
Since getting my intrauterine ballon/catheter removed, my doctor has been inserting a laminaria into my cervix to make sure it doesn't close before our upcoming IUI #2. It is essentially a stick of seaweed that slowly expands to dilate the cervix. Then I am stuffed full with gauze to make sure it doesn't slip out of place. I have to get it replaced every 48 hours till the IUI, but its the weekend and they are closed till tomorrow so this one is 72 hours and its still dilating me
My Wednesday to Friday laminaria dilated me to a little over 1.5 cm. She placed a smaller one for the long weekend, but its been in for a while now so its cramping more. Hopefully the IUI will be Wednesday so I only need one more
We also cant have sex with it in, so we will be doing 2 IUI's this month to try and up the count inside. Do far friday was CD 10 with 1 follicle measuring at a 9.5...
