Re: IUI #3 is a go! Any Menopur advice?
The big thing people talk about with Menopur is the burn you experience when the medication is going in. I don't think the needle hurts more than any other injectable, but the burn is definitely there. Some say ice helps to reduce the discomfort, but it didn't do much for me. I did find that it helped a bit to wait a few minutes after you mix the Menopur to do the injection. That seemed to reduce some of that sting.
As far as side effects, Menopur gave me some flu-like symptoms. It's nothing too horrible, but it can be a little alarming to think you are coming down with the flu in the beginning of your cycle! I don't know how common it is to experience these symptoms, but I had that particular side effect all three times.
