I really like Calla or Callie and would consider using Calla as a full name. I hate to say it but I strongly dislike Calliope as a person's name; to me it's an odd little musical instrument, and the sound of the name itself is just strange and sort of awkward-sounding to me.

It's not my style, but I think it's a pretty name in general.  I liked it when I first heard it on Gray's Anatomy and I haven't head it anywhere else since then.  I like Callie as the nn. Calla makes me think of the lily, which is less of a human name in my mind.

Someone I know just named her daughter Calliope Ann.  I had never heard of it before then.  I don't care for it.
