Babies on the Brain

Advice please!!

Hello! My last normal period was on 3/13 and lasted about 5 or 6 days. I usually have very intense breast pain for about a week prior to the start of my period that slowly eases up within the first couple of days of my period. I also always suffer from cramps on the first day of my period.
This month was different than my normal period. I started my period on 4/14 and it lasted until 4/16 which is only 3 days, not like the normal 5 or 6 days. It was very light and I didn't have any breast pain or cramps. My breast always hurt very badly before my period, I cannot think of a time when they didn't. I also cannot recall a time where I didn't cramp, although the cramping does vary in intensity each month. The fact that my period was so light and without any of my other normal period symptoms, I cant help but question pregnancy.
On Wednesday 4/24 8 days aftet the end of my period my breast became sore. Each day that passes the intensity of the pain increases. It is now Friday 4/26 and they are still very sore.
I took a test Monday 4/22 only 6 days after the end of my period based solely on the fact that my period was short, light, and without other normal symptoms. It was negative so I quickly dismissed pregnancy. But now that my breast became so sore 8 days after the end of period I think I may actually be pregnant.
Do you think I waited long enough to take a test? And how long should I wait to take another test? Does it sound like I am pregnant or do you think I'm over analyzing everything? Has anyone gone through anything similar with the breast pain a week after your period but no breast pain prior or during your period? Thanks for any advice you may have! :

  • If you got your period, I wouldn't assume pregnancy just because it's different. Your body does weird things.

  • I'm sorry but I have to agree. Positive thinking-at least your period didn't suck this time around, if it was shorter and lighter. You can always keep testing, but they aren't cheap. Best of luck next time! :)
  • You're hormone levels may just be changing, hence the lighter period. The sore BBs two weeks after may have been you ovulating. My periods is usually only 3 or 4 days and this past month it was 6. I would say start temping or using OPK tests to get a better idea of your cycle.
