I am grateful that LO has almost always had a 5h stretch between feeds at night. But I dislike it when he only feeds one side before bed knowing that I will be so full there 5h from now and then I get set up for a day of one sided feeds and leaking lots from the other. I know this is a whiney post and not really a problem but DH isn't home and the board feels a little slow tonight so I felt it was worth typing out. :

    Have you thought about pumping that side? Not to empty bc that would reinforce the need for that much milk. It what if you just half pumped the unused side and started a little freezer stash?

    Haha! I read your post as I'm finishing pumping the other side. Often I can cluster feed her before bed, but I ran out to catch up with some peeps for dinner and only got her to eat one side. 
    TTC Since 3/2010
    Me-36, Unexplained Infertility, DH-35, all clear
    Clomid 50mg 12/2011 = BFN
    Clomid 100mg 1/2012 = BFN, with Cyst
    IVF #1 Lupron/Menopur/Gonal-f/HCG Trigger
    ER 4/19/12 = 11 retrieved, 6 fertilized,
    ET 4/22/12 = 2 transfered (day 3), remaining 3 weren't good enough to freeze
    Beta 5/3 = BFP, 87 Beta #2 5/7 560.9 Beta #3 5/9 1376.5 First u/s One Baby, 125bpm!
    Second u/s, 176bmp! Kicked over to the OB by the RE at 8w. Team Green!! 
    Baby girl J arrived two weeks early! Born into water, med-free. Hooray for Team Pink!

    TTC #2 - back to the RE, treatment started 12/2014.

    I went through the same phase with DS, but eventually your body will adjust and it will stop being so uncomfortable. Hang in there and enjoy some sleep. :)

    I agree with the pumping recs!

    My LO almost always eats from only one side though. It can be a little uncomfortable but since this has almost always been the norm, I think my body and supply are used to it!

    Hook a side up!  Sometimes I would pump the one side while feeding on the other just so I wouldn't have to spend the extra time after I put him or her to bed ;)

    Yep I usually pump at least one side after DS goes to sleep....it is definitely the sucky part of having a baby sleep for long stretches at night.  If he doesn't take a long feed on both sides before falling asleep and I don't pump I am in some ma

    Thanks ladies. I should've clarified that I do pump at the 2am feed. He feeds off the fuller side and then I pump the other. I pump at that feed because that's when I am fullest and because its the only time of day he falls asleep after a feed and does
