question on heartbeat

Ok so today I went to the dr and they said everything looks really good the baby so far is measuring great. Even though I am measuring a week ahead I am 8 weeks pregnant but the bean is measuring at 9 any way I heard its heart beat and the BPM is 180 im a little worried though is that too high ? Someone also told me its very likely its a girl with a heart beat like that

The heart rate and gender is an old wives tale only.  The heart rate sounds fine.  A fetus hear beat is usually double an adults.  Congrats!

180 is well within the normal range. No worries there. The wives tail about the heartbeat predicting the gender is a 50 50 shot in the dark. It's still fun to guess tho.
