4.5 weeks/light bleeding

Hi ladies- I am almost 5 weeks pregnant and this morning I went to the bathroom and there were a couple of drops of blood in the toilet and then light red on the paper when I wiped. I immediately went to the doctor, but the bleeding did stop completely after that. It was just that time in the morning. There hasn't been any cramping yet. The doctor said it was too early to tell if it was serious, because some women do have light bleeding during their first trimester and it could be a number of different things. But she is having me tested to make sure my hormone and progesterone levels are rising properly. Has anyone experienced this? This is my first pregnancy so I am just scared and unsure of what to think.

As long as your numbers increase properly, its normal to have some spotting in your first trimester, because your cervix is more sensitive due to the horomones.  If you start having bright red blood, and can fill up a pad within in an hour and hav

Spotting can be normal during the first tri. I had it with my daughter, and I'm new having it with this one. Just had a u/s to confirm everything is okay and saw the heart beating! My bleeding this time around is apparently due to a subchorionic hemmor

Thank you ladies for your responses. I am hoping everything progresses normally. I took another first response pregnancy test today and the line is much darker than a few days ago so I am assuming this means my HcG levels are getting higher.
