Re: ectopic pregnancy and csection

  • Hmmm I am unsure. I know after 2 c-sections they don't allow vbacs, but I don't know if surgery for an ectopic pregnancy counts towards that.

  • I personally know someone who had a VBAC after two cesareans, but you need to find a doctor/hospital that's willing/able to work with you on that. A friend of mine who's had two c-sections is also going to try for a vaginal birth.

I honestly don't know how ectopic pregnancies effect your ability to have a vaginal birth. It seems to me that they shouldn't ...?  But I'm not sure. I think you should ask your OBGYN.

  • I had an ectopic pregnancy in march 2004 and had a Csection in Aug 2005. My surgery for the ectopic pregnancy was done laparoscopically, so there were only 3 small incisions on my belly. I don't know of any limitations on how many csections a woman could have. I am a petite woman, 4'11", and my pelvis is small, so my average sized baby 7lb, 11oz, couldn't fit through. I am destined to deliver my future children via csection. My mom delivered me my 2 sisters by csection, so I don't think there's a limit to it.
