1st Trimester

this nausea is really getting out of hand

I woke up at 5am and before getting out of bed took my Zofran because I know if I don't I will be running for the bathroom, I then will myself not to throw up just long enough for it to kick in and for me to fall back asleep. Its not even 9am and I feel like I am going to get sick again (pretty sure I will) but the bottle says to take every 6hrs, its only been 3.5hrs. Trying to eat some crackers and pray I don't get sick, but I feel its going to be a losing battle. I just hope it doesn't get as bad as it did with my first. Had HG and it lasted the whole pregnancy...I will be happy if it goes away in a few weeks.

  • I'm so sorry your ms is that bad.  I can't imagine how awful it would be for you without the Zofran if you're still feeling that sick.  Are you home with your son?  If so, do you have anyone around to help you out?

  • Sorry to hear. Zofran did nothing for me after the first day. I managed mine through eating bland foods for the first few weeks and graduated slowly to foods that had a little seasoning to them. I also try to drink a lot of water. I hope you start to feel
  • Thanks. Yes I stay at home with my son and also babysit for a friend's daughter (also 2yrs old) during the week. DH is in the army so there are days he is home early, but most days he is home late and we have no family in the area (my brother and SIL live

  • We all feel your pain! For some reason, the thought of chewing solids is painful for me, so the whole saltines thing hasn't been my savior. I stick to a liquid diet - protein fruit smoothies, veggie soup, oatmeal if I can manage to get up and make it, jus
  • I might try the homemade smoothie route. I called the doc and they are going to try a new med (starts with a F...not suppose to combine with Zofran but she said I should take it at night b.c it helps with sleep) and add B-6 to see if that helps.

  • I posted this on another thread earlier, but it is applicable here too.

I started taking Zofran at 5 weeks, but I was still extremely nauseous, and was missing a lot of days at work because of that. The Z
