At my anatomy ultrasound at 19 weeks, the tech guessed boy but she was only 70% sure. And by the time DH and I were able to look at the monitor (at the very end) baby wasn't in a good position. So I didn't feel very confident about the gender determination.
Then at my OB appointment today, my doctor was kind enough to do a quick ultrasound to see if she was right about it being a boy. I thought I saw a penis, but my doctor said it was actually the umbilical cord, which was going right through baby's legs completely blocking his or her privates. Even though baby was moving a lot, the cord stayed put. All my doc could say was there was no indication of it being a boy, but he couldn't make a guess either way.
So now I'm wondering if the ultrasound tech saw the cord and not a penis. Anyone else had the cord blocking baby's genitals? And if you ended up getting a follow up ultrasound later, was the cord still in the way or did it move?
