Tubes in Ears

My LO had multiple ear infections during this winter season.  She never showed any signs.  Only when we would bring her to dr appts would he notice the infections.  Even though LO is acting fine and not sick, I wanted her to see a ENT.  She went today and she still has fluid in her left ear.  He said she even has some hearing loss in that ear.  Next Friday she will be getting tubes.

 Can someone walk me through this?  I am a bit nervous since LO is my first.  What can I expect?  Anything I should think about or prepare for?
