Rash?? food question too

Hi ladies. Haven't posted in forever!! At least a couple of months.

DD is almost 6 months. She has a little rash all over her tummy. Initially, I thought maybe it was dry skin but now I'm noticing it on the sides of her tummy too. Slightly pink. Super teeny bumps. No change in detergents or soaps or anything. No change in diet. Think I should call the pedi?

I cannot for the life of me remember when we started food with DS. She's almost 6 mo. She's just mowing taking 6 oz bottles every 3 hours or so. She does fixate on food if she sees someone eating something but she sometimes won't even finish 6 oz but mostly takes 56oz. I'm pumping so I would say that she gets two 5oz bottles and onetwo formula bottles daily. I still nurse when I'm home. Should I be trying cereal or first foods I have a baby bullet but I haven't used it yet.

  • Omg I hate auto correct. Obviously, that's supposed to read 56 oz.

  • Has she been sick recently?  Sometimes a virus ends with a small body rash.

I started DD on baby oatmeal for no particular reason.  I think if you choose one of the low-allergy first foods, it can totally be whatever you prefer. </

I don't have any advice on the rash.

We started purees at 5m. Rice cereal first for a week, then we added a second "meal" of veggies at dinner time. We do a new veg every week, and have now worked up to 3 meals, 1 being rice cereal still. So

  • Our pedi told me the test for any rash is if it will turn white when pressed w/a finger. If it does, it's not super concerning. The "bad" rashes don't blanch when pressed on. Without any other symptoms I wouldn't worry, but you could call your pedi just

  • I wish I could help on the rash question! But it's good to see you here. We didn't start offering solids until six months, and we did (and still are) doing half baby-led feeding and half-purees. I skipped cereals alltogether and we started with veggies.<b

  • Thanks!!! I've been soo busy with my new job. I haven't had a chance to log on at work and we've been renovating at home so our Mac hasn't been set up.

I think we're going to skip the cereal too. It's really just a filler right? I bought a b
