1st Trimester

Recommendations?

When we tested we used a Walmart brand test and after about 4 hours the plus sign faded, but I think that has to do with the line being so faint when we tested. We then tested with the Clear Blue digital to confirm and got a "pregnant". However, the result "turned off" after two days. We want to keep a test for the baby book (as weird as that may sound to some people) but we're not quite sure which test would "keep" the result. I've heard pink dye tests are good for this purpose. Any suggestions on brands or where to purchase? Thanks so much!

(Also, my mom kept both the tests for my brother and I, and when we look at the baby books it's kind of neat to know that once we were just hormones read on a stick, or blood test, and now we are full grown humans! Pregnancy is such a miracle!)

Hope everyone is progressing well this week!

  • I have a great idea. Take a picture and then put the picture in the baby book.

  • I don't think any pregnancy tests last after a certain amount of time, but you can always keep the stick that said positive...or like the other lady said take a picture :)  I took a picture of mine.  Plus it fits better into a baby book.

I threw mine out but I'm pretty sure they all fade eventually.  I agree with PP that you can take a picture o

  • I don't know that I would put an actual test in a baby book but I do actually still have a positive test from when I was pregnant with DS and he is over 2 years old (so basically it's almost 3 years old), and it is still clear as day - it was a FRER (pink

  • My FRER tests from when my DS lasted past a year. We threw it out when we moved into our house from apartment but he never did fade. Maybe try that. All my digital tests from this time cleared the results. The picture idea would work too though.

  • I kept both positive pee sticks in a plastic baggie but I threw them out when I saw the result had faded away.  I'm kicking myself that I didn't take a picture.

  • I personally wouldn't hold onto something that I pee'd on. And I'd give my mom the side eye if she saved her's and handed it down to me.

A picture is what we did, has the same sentiment.

  • I've kept all of my positive pregnancy tests, and the pink dye ones (FRER) hold up pretty well, though sometimes they yellow over time. I know I should probably throw them away eventually, but since they (and a couple of ultrasound photos) are all I ha

  • I used first response, they lasted at least 2 weeks before I threw them out and I didn't notice any fading at that point either.

  • My First Response tests are still clear as day (DS is 2.5).

Yup, I kept them. Covered and I'm sure I'll toss them someday, but I kept them.
