We are having a tough time with our 16 month old son. He has been acting very whiny clingy and all around just seems so unhappy. He used to be the happiest little guy and used to be such an awesome sleeper. All we had to to at bedtime is put him in his crib and he would talk for a bit and go to sleep. Now when I put him on there he just grabs a hold of me and screams and doesn't want to go down. He has also been waking up at night crying which he never did.
It may just be teething. He had one molar that came through just a few days ago so I don't know if he has more coming through or what.
We also have a three month old daughter. He maybe acting this way because he wants more attention from me because he's used to getting all my attention before the new baby. I have been trying to give him as much attention and hugs and snuggles as I can but he just seems so unhappy all the time. He was such a happy little boy and then its like a switch just went off within the last month or two. I just feel like I'm failing him and I don't know what to do. Is this normal toddler behavior? I just see so many other toddlers running around that seem so happy and mine just seems miserable. I mean he has his happy points during the day. I'm not sure what I'm looking for here. Just somewhere to vent I guess. Advice anyone? Can anyone tell me this is normal and it will get better?
