Pregnant after 35

Verify test and gender

Today we went to have some genetic counseling, had a dating ultrasound (we're right on track EDD 11/14) and that was awesome to see the baby.  Makes it feel a bit more real!   We also went for bloodwork for the Verify test.  They said that if we wanted to know the sex, they would test for that and tell me when they called with the results.  I'm torn about whether to find out that way, or wait for the 18 week ultrasound.    It's not a huge deal, and finding out a few more weeks early would be fun, but I remember with DD how exciting it was at the ultrasound when the technician said "It's a girl!"

If you had the blood test, did you find out with the results?   or did you wait til your ultrasound?

  • With the Harmony test it's $150 out of pocket for sex determination....and also I would have had to go to a different Dr's office for the blood draw. The blood draw for trisomies only I could have done at a regular appointment with my OB. I have no idea w
